In today’s news that makes me happy to be a Packers fan…
Dallas fans are apparently so pissed at Jessica Simpson for “distracting” Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo that she has had to beef up her security, even employing a guard to stay with her in her gated L.A. home when she sleeps at night. “She definitely isn’t heading back to Texas for a while,” a source told OK! magazine.
Not making matters any better is blogger extraordinaire John Mayer, who took to the keyboard to defend his ex-girlfriend, writing:
“… That girl loves Texas more than you know. It’s one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don’t try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn’t be able to, but it’s less work for all involved.)”
The only thing more ridiculous than blaming Jessica for the Cowboys’ lousy game, is Mayer thinking his sensitive frat-boy plea is going to assuage angry football fans. What’s next, Nick Lachey singing a ballad called “What’s Left of Her… is Still a Texan” at the Super Bowl halftime show? Papa Joe getting her a gig performing at the Miss Texas pageant? A sequel to Debbie Does Dallas — Jessica Screws Cowboys (The Right Way!)?
i’m no fan of jessica but those cowboys fans need to stop their whining. their team just sucks-deal with it!

What a sore loser gesture… blame it on buddy’s girlfriend! As much as I think Jessica Simpson is lame in her own special ways, I feel defensive about her on this issue. I mean, the poor thing never saw the home run she was waiting for.
