It’s Not Easy Being on the Leading-Edge of Fashion

Well, I no longer feel so embarrassed about the tan lines I showed in my prom dress…

Marche Taylor got a police escort, rather than a date, at her prom for wearing this elegant “custom-made” dress to the dance.

Custom-made by whom? House of Deréon’s Haute Cout-whore collection?

As soon as Marche, 17, entered the lobby at the Marriott in Houston, an official stopped her and noted that her attire was inappropriate for a school function. Unless, of course, Marche was auditioning for the school production of Pimps ‘N’ Hos. The conversation became heated, with Marche demanding to get her money back, until someone finally called the police — who then led her away from the prom in handcuffs.

*SIGH* Whatever happened to the more innocent, simple days when kids just drank too many wine coolers and lost their virginity on prom night?

“I actually like the dress. Everybody else likes my dress,” Marche said.

Uh-huh. Let me guess — and these are your friends?

Yo, Marche, you were attending prom, not a nightclub. Of course you were going to get denied entry with an outfit like that.

For realz?! This chick is off her rocker, waht a moron. I would never let my kid outta the house like that!

  9. Peta says:

Her mother must be lax as hell if she knowingly let her child leave the house dressed like that!

  10. Demon Kitty says:

Her mother probably made the dress for her. It kind of looks like a table cloth or curtain behind it.

Of course this all took place in Houston. No shit.

It looks like the other photo is from “ghetto prom”.

well, I bet the ladies in her holding cell appreciated the outfit. a little effort goes a long way when making friends in jail.

There are plenty of young women in the world not much older than Miss Taylor getting paid huge salaries to wear just as little coverage. I think her school might have grounds based on their “published” dress code, which these days must get technical to stand up in court, but the REAL POINT should be about judging people based on who they are NOT what they wear! Isn’t that the message both our schools and our churches are always trying to teach people? What a double-standard in behavior.

  13. frewt says:

Fuck that Dennis, if it likes to look like a ho, it probably is a ho!

    Point taken however.

  14. z says:

That dress looks like she took her home’s drapes and tried to make… uhmmm… something original out of them.

  15. Demon Kitty says:

I hate to say this Dennis C., but the extent to which you let your ass hang out is clearly a measure of your dignity.
