I think the point about interaction with people outside the family is a good one. I also think it’s impossible for the parents to give each kid the one-on-one time kids need in a world as complicated as ours is. The older kids must spend a lot of time caring for the younger ones which I think is unfair on them. I also assume that many kids means mucho dinero in benefits, I don’t see why people with no kids or a responsibly sized family should have to sponsor their whim of using the woman’s vagina as a clown car.

I don’t have a problem with the amount of Duggar kids, they have created their own utopia there. The kids are homeschooled too. I just think they could benefit from more social interaction if they’re not getting it. They should prepare to hear the phrase, “You don’t get out much do you?” repeated quite often.

I’ve said in this space before: homeschooled kids, in my quarter- century of college educator experience, are generally at the top intellectually — but are woefully inept socially. There’s simply something missing.

Ah… I’m assuming you either are homeschooled, Karen, (like me), or homeschool your children. I was all set to get up in arms about this, but honestly, the only media portrayal we’ll get is nutjobs like these, and frankly it’s true that 85% of us ARE nutjobs. Nothing to do but laugh about it… and secretly plot our h8rs’ demise…
