Tori Spelling’s beloved dog and the true star of the Spelling clan, Mimi LaRue, died Tuesday of natural causes. Mimi was 11 years old, managing to avoid those awkward teenage years.
“I’m devastated,” Tori tells People. I’m convinced she waited around to make sure I had the daughter I always dreamt about before she left us. . . She was a star and a true lady, and she will be missed greatly.”
Mimi is survived by her mother, Tori, step-father Dean McDermott, brother Liam and newborn sister Stella, as well as a long-held secret in Hollywood:
Mimi LaRue is NOT a natural red-head.

I’ve never been a fan of Tori, but I feel bad for her in losing her dog, even so. Sad.
I hope Tori doesn’t dress her kids in such ridiculous outfits.

June 19th, 2008 at 1:51 amI can’t lie. I kinda love Tori and Dean. I wish them great happiness with their new daughter and feel for their loss of Mimi. Yes, contrary to speculation, I have a heart… It’s tiny and black (like a hard little raisin), but it still pumps.

June 19th, 2008 at 3:58 amFrewt: LOL
Mateo: I agree, it’s hard not to love Tori and Dean. They seem like they’d be a good laugh and compared to today’s Celebutards I think she’s pretty grounded, especially having that atrocious mother to deal with. In any case, as an animal lover I’d call a truce on my worst enemy if they had just lost their pet. I still get all teary about losing my beloved pit bull to cancer last year sometimes.
June 19th, 2008 at 4:50 amSorry, but every time I see Tori, I think about the chin brigade (Aniston, Witherspoon, SJ Parker, Margaret Hamilton — the Wicked Witch in the 1939 movie Wizard of Oz — and others identified previously on CandyKirby.com).
June 19th, 2008 at 3:28 pmYeah,Kathleen…must be tough when your (dead) pug dog has a prettier face
