Sad news…
George Carlin, a counter-culture comedian (in)famous for his hilarious routines about drugs and dirty words, died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital on Sunday. He was 71.
George is survived by his wife, daughter and zingers such as “Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected,” and “If God had intended us not to masturbate, he would’ve made our arms shorter.”

This is very sad to hear. I greatly enjoyed Carlin’s comedy and perspectives on things. Both will be missed.

June 23rd, 2008 at 10:32 amI gently weep.
Carlin was an icon to people in my generation (I’m exactly in the middle of the so-called Baby Boom).
I remember howling at Class Clown and FM & AM in the early ’70s, and thinking “Yeah, this guy’s GOT it!”. I have the vinyl recordings!
If you weren’t around then, you probably can’t imagine how revolutionary Carlin was for those turbulent but interesting times.
Farewell, George, you done good.
