According to that bastion of reliability, Wikipedia, the name Solange has a very interesting history. See this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solange.

(I love Wikipedia, I just can’t, as a practicing librarian, recommend it as THE final word on anything. But, truth be told, they get it right a lot of the time. This is a dirty little secret that most librarians probably don’t want you to know.)
