And, for once, Naomi Campbell is on the receiving end…
Nelson Mandela, whom Naomi has called an “honorary grandfather,” has personally uninvited Naomi from his 90th birthday party after she was fined and sentenced to 200 hours’ community service last week for assaulting two police officers at Heathrow.
Oh, boy. I would NOT have wanted to be the messenger of that news. (”Hey, don’t shoot the — oh, sh*t.”)
A source close to the event said:
“The man himself intervened and she was pulled off the list. Naomi was slated to introduce some of the acts on stage as she has done with 46664 concerts in the past, but she has been informed that this time she can only sit in the grandstand. He was disappointed with her recent arrest — particularly as she was wearing a 46664 baseball cap at the time.”
46664 was, of course, Mandela’s prison number during his 27-year sentence and is now the name of his AIDS awareness campaign.
Amy Winehouse, however, is still invited to perform — and the only number that she’ll be wearing is that of her crack dealer’s on her palm.
