George Clooney Takes Difficult Neutral Position in SAG Talks

As actor unions SAG and AFTRA prepare for battle over the upcoming studio negotiations, George Clooney has taken it upon himself to write a letter letting everyone know… he’s not taking sides.

Um, thanks for sharing that!

Clooney released a two-page message Thursday that gives a neutral position, laying out both sides of the fighting unions’ positions and focusing on the issues of the working actor.

“Both are, of course, right,” Georgie wrote. “AFTRA feels that a work stoppage would be devastating to its members, and SAG believes that if they don’t draw a line in the sand, the studios will repeat what they did with DVDs.”

Glad he summarized that for us!  I believe the the legal term for Georgie’s stance is “The Pussy Position.”

I know, I know… I once wanted to assume The Pussy Position with Georgie, myself.  However, between you and me…?  His stock tragically plummeted after that whole Fabio debacle. Seriously, I haven’t been able to stalk Georgie’s house without thinking of him trying to rumble with the “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!” romance novel cover boy for months now.  A bit of a mood killer while I’m biding my time in his shrubs, you know?

So, in an announcement that’s as necessary as Georgie declaring he has no opinion, I am officially going on record to reveal that I am now dating James McAvoy, who has captured my heart with his humor and, yes, his accent during the requisite Wanted promotional rounds.  Oh sure, he’s put up a couple roadblocks with that wifey of his and insistence on living in London, but hey — that’s what denial and frequent flyer miles are for.
