I can’t even write that without thinking of Ross and Rachel.
Anyway…
As you might imagine, a blogger has to be, well, obsessed with blogging to write every day. And I have been. Which is why I’ve only missed two days since I launched my original blog, Holy Candy, almost two years ago. It’s a strange addiction, an adrenaline rush, matched only by my passion for margaritas. I’ve done a lot of different kinds of writing in my time — from magazines to soap operas to press releases — and I think it’s the rare opportunity to actually interact with readers that makes blogging so damn appealing to me.
Of course, that can be a downside, too, when you get the delightful reader who imparts the helpful advice, “GET A LIFE U JEALUS LOOSER!” But, thankfully, that’s been the exception rather than the norm.
However, I need a mini-break now — just for a couple weeks — to recharge the batteries AND to work on a new pet project. Details to come. (I’m such a tease, I know.) Gossip has been slow and July Fourth is right around the corner, so I thought this would be a good time to take a breather. Of course, you just KNOW this is when Miley Cyrus will get busted for DUI without a license, but… such is my luck.
I will return on Monday, July 14th, armed with recharged batteries and information about my new venture. In the meantime, I hope y’all have a wonderful holiday!
