Let’s Offer Our Condolences to Peanut Kai Rademacher

Filed Under: Babies, Totally Weird But True

I have friends who would like to adopt a baby.  They’ve hired a lawyer.  They’ve filled out the application, which is — and I’m estimating here — about 4,729 pages long.  Their home has been inspected multiple times.  They’ve forked over an insane amount of cash.  They’ve built a Web site to show pregnant mothers just what loving parents they would be.  They continue to wait for a bundle of joy with bated breath.

And yet douchebags like the one to our left are allowed to procreate as much as they want — and name their kid PEANUT.

Somewhere, Apple Martin is wiping her brow and saying, “Phew!  That takes a load off my shoulders!”

Yes, General Hospital star Ingo Rademacher was apparently in a nutty mood and named his newborn Peanut Kai.  Better than Ingo, Jr. I guess.

So why inflict this life of inevitable torture on the little guy?

“We were calling him that when he was in mommy,” Ingo told People. “It kind of represented joy and happiness to us. It puts a smile on everyone’s face.”

Sadly, Peanut is unable to even shorten his name into something less devastating.  “Hey, Pea!  Er… Nut!  Um… hey, you!”  And can you just imagine the ramifications of this name when he’s in bed with a girl?

I think I speak for Peanut when I say people should have to apply to reproduce, as well.

Yeah, everyone except your poor kid.

    So spot on…

Adoption is gnarly. We finished our homestudy (hours and hours of interviewing, home & documents inspection, proof of finances, etc.) at the end of March or early April.

We were chosen by a mom in Florida who turned out to be a drug addicted prostitute w/ 2 kids already removed from her custody, her last one was born at 30wks - totally drug addicted. Yeah, um, we had to back out of that one.

We were chosen by another mom at the beginning of July. She already has 4 kids living with her dad (not their dad(s), HER HIV/AIDS+ dad and his partner). We were set to fly to OK to meet her last Tuesday but got the call later afternoon Monday that she had “changed her mind & decided not to place.” Luckily we had only paid $15k of the $32k+ tab & we’re getting back about $6k…great.

Now we’re back to waiting. Adoption is so tough, but we know there is a baby (or babies) being born into unfortunate circumstances who will need us and will eventually join our family.

Ok, thanks for the therapy session Candy!!

    Thanks MD!

But sadly, there are hundreds of thousands of couples just like us.

The good news is that any couple or singleton adopting is REALLY SURE they want children or else we wouldn’t be willing to jump through the hoops and experience all of the heartache (before our kids even come home!) that we do.

Happy Birthday to my husband of almost 11yrs! Love you behb! xox

Oh, Peanut, take off your shirt… oh yes, darling, those pecs of yours are lovely, yes, indeed they are, now take off your trousers… oh, gosh, your buttocks are just wonderful, and we’ve only got your pants left to go… OH YEAH, THAT’S IT, PEANUT, GOD YOU’RE HOT… oh wait, what? You bloody wanker, I can see what it is that inspired your parents to name you that. Now sod off.

Awww Puppet. It is so sad what couples who would like to adopt go through. I hope you and your hubby dreams come true soon. I really admire people who adopt, you have to REALLY want a kid and make terrific parents once successful. It was a joy to attend my friend’s son’s second birthday party recently. She and her hubby went through so much to adopt him and they are such a beautiful family. Keeping everything crossed for you guys, you seem like a lovely couple.

    Amazing Adopting Puppet,
I’m sorry you had to go through so much grief. I truly hope it works out for you soon!
