His ADS, I mean! Geesh. Get your filthy minds out of the gutter.
Yes, upscale menswear store Johnston & Murphy has pulled their advertisements featuring the sex-addicted David Duchovny — because, heaven forbid, someone should associate their brand with getting laid all the time.
I mean, really! Dialing down the sexy is not exactly the best way to, um, stiff the competition. J&M should just tweak their tagline to reflect the intercourse of Duchovny’s behavior:
“The clothes that look even better on a stranger’s bedroom floor.”

Virile men need not apply.

August 31st, 2008 at 11:18 amIt’s just another example of the duality of American society–the ideal (no sex) and the reality (humans are animals too).
August 31st, 2008 at 12:21 pmwhy would they pull the ad? this is the best thing that could have happened to them!
August 31st, 2008 at 5:15 pmthat’s ok, i prefer him w/o clothes anyway.

September 1st, 2008 at 1:49 amI’ve never heard of the company so they’ve just done themselves a true disservice! David was always cool to me, in that sort of chinless, short chin, no chin kinda way. Good luck fella!
